When Andrew and I first met Alexis and Ryan, we were smitten. You see, Alexis and Ryan just sorta clicked with us; they are fun, adorable, totally in love and have amazing sense of humor. So after their engagement session I was more than a little bit excited to join them on their wedding day. It’s simple really, give me a wedding with good light and a bride and groom who are totally in love and have genuine fun with one another and my heart is happy. Photographing Alexis and Ryan say I do on beautiful sandy shores with their sleeping son on granddaddy’s shoulder was one of those heart happy moments I would gladly repeat over and over again.

This little guy totally stole my heart. I found myself watching him a lot throughout the day, imagining years and years down the road when he shows his children his parent’s wedding photo hanging on a wall somewhere. As his mommy was getting dressed, he sat in the corner content to hold the hem of her dress. I wonder if he knew just how special of a day it was.

This is why first looks will always be a joy for me. Alexis’ childlike excitement to see Ryan as her groom for the first time – the gambit of emotions that played on her face made me giggle a little from behind the camera.

Please pay close attention to the two men on the right side of this photo. I mean, come one, do you see those faces?! Groomsmen are my favorite – they’re crazy and out there and you never know what you’re gonna get with a group of guys all bunched together in suits for a “serious” moment.
