be still my dc comics/marvel loving heart. this post is a dangerous thing. this post has the ever so tiniest of chances that i might just let my inner geek come out to play. just the tiniest of chances. you see, i love superheros, mutants and general freaks…marvel, dc, you name it. however cool i attempt to play it, i’m not gonna lie, i have the entire marvel encyclopedia in my library. generally, i would totally hoist a marvel flag over a dc one anytime {which is mainly due to xmen…don’t even get my inner geek started on xmen} but there are a few exceptions that come to mind off the top of my head.
- batman – makes me hold onto the slight chance that i can be a superhero with a fancy gadget belt…no superpowers needed.
- wonder woman – hello confidence!
- superman – not generally a superman fan, like at all. i honestly find him a tiny bit boring, predictable and stiff. which is what makes this next part so odd.
a few months ago, andrew and i started re-watching all the smallville seasons leading up to the final season now playing on tv. and, sure, i’ll go ahead and say it…we’re kinda obsessed. we’d already watched every batman cartoon series and movie available {i’m not kidding you, name the batman, we’ve watched it} so naturally, we had to even the field with superman. enter smallville and we got hooked all over again. our favorite thing: smallville! i honestly don’t know what it is; like i said earlier, not a fan of superman. maybe it’s lois lane, or the ever changing storyline, or chloe. either way, i’m totally hooked.
see, now, did i not tell you about that inner geek of mine? well, she married a nerd. and that nerd is an enabler! that nerd keeps encouraging the geek with all this smallville! there was literally a night when we watched smallville from 330pm till close to 1am. we should be ashamed.
