I‘m one of those people that write weird things on my calendar. You know, National Doughnut Day {but spelled ‘donut’ even though spell check says that’s wrong}, National Apple Pie Day, National Cupcake Day…and as I write that, it would appear that most of my calendar events involve food of a sugary nature! While most holiday’s are well known like Thanksgiving, Christmas anniversary and birthdays, I’ve always liked to celebrate the random little things just as much as the big things. Because seriously, who doesn’t want to watch a Star Wars marathon and say “may the fourth be with you” on National Star Wars Day!?
So, for those of you who want something a little special to celebrate today, today is National Picnic Day!
So get out of your usual Tuesday routine and make a picnic. Pack up a picnic basket full of your favorite snack and treats, play a lawn game or just watch the clouds. I mean, come on, when was the last time you watched the clouds and made cloud animals! And yes, for those of you who are wondering, a brown bag lunch on the grass during your hour long lunch break totally counts for National Picnic Day!
