have you ever taken a moment to just look back over your life? well, okay, before you think i’m getting all sappy and reminiscent, i mean your life in social media. yea, i’m sure i just got some eye rolls and groans from a handful of people for that one. but seriously, take a second and click on your profile and just scroll backwards.
sometimes you need to just look back and remember. to see where you’ve come from and to allow all those awesome memories over the years to come flooding back to the forefront of your mind. we go through life so fast. even the times that seem like they’re taking forever and if only we could speed them up, we would – even those times really are just flying by. social media and all it’s glory makes it so easy to look back, to see that photo from 2008 you wish never existed, or remember that night you got stuck in the rain when your car battery died, or to remember the bible study group you were a part of in college where you realized how isolated you were from everyone around you, or to remember the day that isolation was lifted when you found that person who would stay by your side through anything.
the photo on the left is a photo from one of the first weddings andrew and i ever shot as olimb photography. i’m fairly certain at that point we were printing business cards from office depot from a publisher file, but that’s where we were four ish years ago. the photo on the right is from two weeks ago. we’ve grown; we’ve changed. there may be times when we need to take a moment to remember that because we’ve forgotten.
some days you need to just take a moment and see your growth, big or small.
dwell in possibility…
