I’m fairly certain that it was in the mid 20’s. I know full well that the temperature said 42 but let’s face it, with the wind, I can say it was in the 20’s and no one out in the cold would debate it. Pressing my index finger as firmly against the button on my camera as I could, I struggled to feel if the camera actually took a photo! It was that cold. But despite the frigid nature of the afternoon and the sheer insanity of attempting a photoshoot in such weather, my heart could not have been more warm.
You see, I met Leslie a year ago in Atlanta. She ever so frankly informed me that the Lord told her that I was a writer and to come say hello. I’m fairly certain I almost fell over in shock but God is incredible like that, He forms connections where we least expect and provides us relationships when we didn’t know we needed them. Leslie has become my much needed support system within my business as well as a true friend. This past weekend Andrew and I packed up our car and road tripped to the land of fields, huge tress and wide open green spaces – basically the things that inspire! I couldn’t imagine not having the support and inspiration that Leslie and I do our best to infuse into one another’s business.
This past weekend was exhausting, but the good kind of exhausting – the kind of exhausting that comes from pushing your limits, opening your mind to learn something new and squeezing every little idea out to the fullest to see what it could be. As Andrew drove us home, I dozed off into an extremely deep sleep. My heart was full and my mind was overwhelmed with ideas and inspiration. It was the weekend that hearts on fire was born. And I cannot wait to see where our hearts go together!
